The qualification covers an Introduction to licensing, the responsible operation of licensed premises, and the effects of alcohol consumption on customers and your business. It also focuses on protecting children and young persons from harm, understanding the 5 licensing objectives, and the roles of statutory bodies, as well as the differences between personal, premises and occasional licences.  

These standards are necessary due to changes in the law that place responsibility on the licensed trade to help keep Scotland safer and healthier. The course is delivered in a 1-day classroom environment comprising of 6hrs training with a 1hr Exam by a trained and experienced instructor who also understands the importance of First Aid at Work in related settings.
