Sia Door Supervisor Course

Sia Door Supervisor Course

 The Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry delivers the knowledge and understanding needed by learners and meets the requirements of current legislation.

To complete this qualification learners are expected to complete pre-course work such as unit 1 PWIPSI eLearning. Then complete 22 hours of classroom learning over 3 days covering topics such as working in private security and working as a CCTV operator. 

The qualification requires learners to complete 2 multiple choice MCQ exams, practical assessments such as statement writing and CCTV Operations.  If you completed Sia security officer or door supervisor training after April 2021, you may be eligable for exemption to complete the first MCQ exam.  Evidence of RPL (Record of Prior Learning) would need provided in the form of your original training certificate, issued to you by the awarding orginisation you completed training with previously.

 Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry is aimed at learners who want to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work legally as a door supervisor. 

To complete this qualification learners are expected to complete pre-course work including First Aid training, ACT Awareness, ACT Security and unit 1 PWIPSI eLearning. Then complete 44 hours of classroom learning over 6 days covering topics such as working in private security, working as a door supervisor, conflict management and physical intervention.  

The qualification requires learners to complete 4 multiple choice MCQ exams, practical assessments such as statement writing, conflict management scenarios, radio and searching, physcial intervention skills.

 Security Officers in the Private Security Industry has been developed to give learners the skills and knowledge to operate effectively and safely while meeting the requirements of the SIA to work as a security officer. 

To complete this qualification learners are expected to complete pre-course work including First Aid training, ACT Awareness, ACT Security and unit 1 PWIPSI eLearning. Then complete 32 hours of classroom learning over 5 days covering topics such as working in private security, working as a security officer and conflict management.

The qualification requires learners to complete 3 multiple choice MCQ exams, practical assessments such as Statement writing, conflict management scenarios, radio and searching.

 Learn the skills and techniques in the implementation of handcuffs, becomming a competent handcuff user.  This course can be completed in 1 day in a classroom environment. 

To complete this qualification you will be required to complete a minimum of 6 hours of learning, over 1 day. 

The qualification covers knowledge such as the law in relation to the use of handcuffs, ACPO guidance on the use of handcuffs., legal framework including Criminal Law ACT 1967, Criminal Justice ACT Scotland 2003 and Human Rights ACT 1998. health and safety relating to the use of handcuffs, PUWER 1998 (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations), handcuff techniques; front stack, rear butterfly and safe prone restraint in both compliant and none compliant scenarios.

To complete this qualification learners are expected to complete pre-course work including First Aid training, ACT Awareness, ACT Security, DSR eLearning. Then complete 11 hours of classroom learning over 2 days covering topics such as working as a door supervisor refresher (DSR) and physical intervention refresher (PIR).

The qualification requires learners to complete 2 multiple choice MCQ exams, practical assessments such as searching and physcial intervention skills.
